Apple is now failing titles due to missing interest ages (audience age range) if the title has a JUV or JNF BISAC code. New titles without this information will not distribute to Apple, and metadata updates for older titles will fail to distribute as well. If she hasn’t already, your Fusion Representative will be asking you to provide interest ages for previously submitted children/young adult titles. When sending metadata for new titles, please include the audience age range information in the “Audience Range Qualifier,” “Audience Range From,” and “Audience Range To” columns on the metadata spreadsheet.
Similarly, Kobo requires audience codes and age ranges for titles to go in their Kids eBook store. Be sure to select children/juvenile or young adult from the “Audience Code” column on the metadata sheet and include interest ages to ensure that your children’s’ titles end up in Kobo’s dedicated kids store.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact your Fusion representative.
Thanks for the update Shaina. I believe we are okay with our titles for now. But going forward this will be very useful information, since later this fall I will be sending you children’s titles as well with a sparkhouse imprint.
Irene
